The Witcher Season 2 Spoilers: Two central characters reportedly filming in Yorkshire

Netflix has recently relocated production of The Witcher season two to England’s beautiful Lake District, with Henry Cavill seen filming in three locations as Geralt of Rivia, including one scene with his witcher brother Paul Bullion (Lambert). It seems, however, that the production is not settling in the Lake District for the next few weeks, but various areas across Northern England. As we reported on Sunday, filming is currently taking place at the High and Low Force Waterfalls in Yorkshire. This time, it does not involve Henry Cavill, but two other central cast members.

After filming at the Lake District focused mainly on Henry Cavill’s Geralt, fans of the show have started wondering about the other stars of the series. Though Joey Batey’s Jaskier is yet to turn up on set, both of The Witcher‘s leading women have been spotted near the Low Force Waterfall on Monday.

The tip comes from a local who was lucky enough to walk past the crew during filming of season two, and they reportedly saw both Anya Chalotra’s Yennefer and Freya Allan’s Ciri on location. The bystander is not certain whether Chalotra and Allan shared a scene or filmed for two entirely different sequences. We are also hearing that stunt doubles and horses were on location for this shoot, which is expected to last until Wednesday.

Is it possible that Yennefer has met Ciri? In short, absolutely. Last week, we were able to confirm that director Louise Hooper (Fresh and Blood) has joined the crew and may replace Geeta Patel as director of the sixth and seventh episodes of season two (which will have eight episodes in total). In fact, Hooper has already begun filming, having completed a scene at Rydal Caves in the Lake District alongside Henry Cavill.

The season’s later episodes are expected to tell stories set after Geralt and Ciri leave the fortress of Kaer Morhen. Book readers will know that, after Kaer Morhen, Geralt leaves Ciri in the care of the priestess Nenneke at the Temple of Melitele. It is in this temple that Ciri is first introduced to Yennefer, when the powerful sorceress accepts Geralt’s request to teach Ciri how to control her magical powers. Should The Witcher follow the novels in this storyline, Yennefer and Ciri will most likely have met in time for the sixth and seventh episodes.

It’s important to note that there is a second possibility, one that is not unlikely. A week before filming began in Yorkshire, The Witcher had filmed two completely different scenes in adjacent locations: the first involved Yennefer, and the second involved Geralt and Ciri. The same could be happening at Low Force Waterfall right now. We have not yet confirmed which director was present for filming, but it’s likely that either Hooper or Sarah O’Gorman (The Last Kingdom) were there, as only they have been filming lately. O’Gorman is in charge of episodes three and four, and we don’t expect Yennefer and Ciri to meet that early.

We’ll be updating this article with more details as soon as we have a clearer picture of the scenes filmed at Low Force Waterfall. In the meantime, we can’t help but get excited at the thought of Yennefer and Ciri finally sharing a scene (if this is indeed the case). Henry Cavill Injury Doesn't Affect Production

By now you've likely heard that Henry Cavill has injured himself during a shoot for The WItcher. United Kingdom media giant The Sun , reported the news first on Cavill's injury. A source close to the show had this to say regarding the injury, "He just suddenly pulled up and was clearly in a lot of pain. It wasn’t clear if an object had hit his leg or it was some sort of hamstring or muscle injury." This took place while Henry was suspended 20 feet in the air for a major scene. While the title of The Sun's article alludes to the production schedule going into chaos, Deadline.com has now also shared the news but notes that any impact to production is not heavily felt due to the coming holiday shut down. The Witcher Season 3 to enter production in early 2022

Everyone is eagerly waiting for The Witcher Season 2 on December 17, but the work on the next season doesn’t stay still and the scripts are being written as we speak. If you recall, Season 3 of The Witcher will have a number of new writers who started their work this July. We were wondering when filming for the next season would begin and now we have a window.
