The Witcher casts Wild Hunt voice actor and more

The last weeks have been full of new cast members for the second season of The Witcher. We discoverd the actress playing Queen Meve as well as some other minor roles. However, this is not the end of information on this topic. Today we can announce the five new cast members.

First is Alastair Parker, who played roles in Doctor Who and Carnival Row. However, fans of The Witcher may perhaps recognize him as he lent his voice to the dwarf Cleaver in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. His role in Season 2 is unknown, but as you can see, he has a very specific body build. His appearance and age match the description of Sigismund Dijkstra, whose audition was disclosed a few months ago. And the casting description for “David” aka Dijkstra can be found here.

Next is british actor Richard Cunningham. Richard appeared in productions such as His Dark Materials, Grantchester and Rogue One. It is not known yet what the character will play and in which episode he will appear.

We’ve also learned that actress Michele Moran has joined the cast of the second season. Michele is known for her episodic roles in such series as Into the Badlands and Flack. Unfortunately, it is not known yet what role she received, but we will try to find out.

We also have very strong suspicions that actor and badminton player Krysten Coombs will play one of the dwarves in second season. His role remains unknown, but we suspect that he will join Yarpen Zigrin’s company and he could he will play one of the Dahlberg brothers. Does the presence of Yarpen and other dwarves mean that we will see scenes of the caravan journey and the elven attack on it near Shaerrawedd? At this point, the chances of it are very good. You may have noticed Krysten’s brief appearance in Game of Thrones when he played one of the dwarves at Joffrey Baratheon’s wedding dressed as one of the realm’s kings.

Lastly, there is young actress Niamh McCormack. She will play the mysterious-sounding character W in an episode directed by Stephen Surjik. It’s possible that ‘W’ is the character’s codename.

As production of The Witcher went from locations back to their studio at Arborfield, even smaller casting news are very welcome. Or maybe one of them isn’t small? Maybe Alastair Parker is indeed Dijkstra? What do you think?
