There’s quite a hefty rumor circling on the internet right now, suggesting that the crew of Netflix’s The Witcher was filming today at Sauton Beach in Devon, UK. We did a quick check-in with our sources and can confirm that this is true. The production at Sauton Beach is indeed The Witcher. From all we heard, it seems the team has something special in store for the last days of filming. That’s quite exciting since it also means that we will see these guys in the new season:

The frightening armor, the outlandish weapons and skeletal horse cuirasses. It’s all a pretty familiar sight. especially to those who have played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Are you thinking what we think? It’s not a huge stretch given this sight and after all, the books made it pretty clear, that the Red Riders that first appear in Time of Contempt serve as the real-life basis for the mythological Wild Hunt. Of course, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for any certain information on the topic.

What we can say is that the unit filming at Saunton Beach is a relatively small one, not your usual 200/250-person roll-out they did back in Fall during the main location shoots. And more: our sources said that filming will continue there tomorrow. So here’s hoping that we’ll get a better look at what really is going on in Devon.

The Witcher to film Cintra flashbacks for Season 2

The Kingdom of Cintra was a key location in the first season of Netflix’s The Witcher . We saw Geralt (Henry Cavill) travel there twice, we saw Ciri (Freya Allan) escaping from Eamon Farren’s Cahir and of course a feast that ended quite magically, to the surprise of all attendants, Geralt included, as he would later realize, destiny is all. The Cintran arc was wrapped in the first season and there would be little reason for the story to return there besides showing us flashbacks from a time when everyone there was still alive and well. We have learned that this will indeed occur in the second season of The Witcher as both Ciri’s parents, Duny and Pavetta will return for a flashback scene. Both actors, Bart Edwards and Gaia Mondadori were recently on set at Arborfield Studios either filming or preparing to film with Ed Bazalgette, director of episodes 5 and 8 of the second season. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms aka Dunk & Egg Series Gets A Schedule Update

2024 will be an interesting year for HBO’s Westeros universe as House of the Dragon Season 2 will premiere this summer, Season 3 writing is getting underway , but also the Dunk & Egg series aka A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will be filmed this year. Dunk & Egg filming slightly delayed Thanks to Production Weekly, we have a new update regarding the filming dates of Dunk & Egg series. It seems that filming should now begin in Summer 2024 , instead of Spring as originally planned.
