Sophia Brown Joins Cast of The Witcher: Blood Origins

The cast for The Witcher: Blood Origins continues to grow! After the announcement earlier this week about Michelle Yeoh joining, we now have confirmation that Sophia Brown will be joining the show, playing Éile. Previously, the role was going to be played by Jodie Turner-Smith, but she had to exit the show due to scheduling conflicts.

Brown, whose past credits include Giri/Haji, The Capture, Marcella, will be joining the show that serves as a prequel to The Witcher. Her role is described as:

An elite warrior blessed with the voice of a goddess, has left her clan and position as Queen's guardian to follow her heart as a nomadic musician. A grand reckoning on the Continent forces her to return to the way of the blade in her quest for vengeance and redemption.

While cameras have been rolling for a few days in Iceland for The Witcher: Blood Origin , a second unit has just started this week in the UK for the Witcher prequel starring Sophia Brown, Laurence O’Fuarain and Michelle Yeoh . As confirmed by TheKnowledge , filming has begun is two UK studios. New cast members wrap filming in Kaer Morhen for The Witcher season 2

The Witcher season two will take Geralt (Henry Cavill) and Ciri (Freya Allan) to Kaer Morhen, the ruin where all the witchers belonging to the School of the Wolf are trained at childhood. There, they will meet a number of new witchers from Geralt’s past, including his mentor and father figure Vesemir (Kim Bodnia) and the witchers Coën (Yasen Atour), Lambert (Paul Bullion) and Eskel (Thue Ramussen). Until recently, it appeared that the show’s Kaer Morhen scenes will be similar to those in the novel Blood of Elves , but a series of new additions to the cast imply that the show is adding some interesting new material. An unexpected character is returning to The Witcher Season 2

It’s been a busy week for Netflix’s The Witcher . We reported about a curious action scene being filmed at Kaer Morhen involving Henry Cavill’s Geralt, Freya Allan’s Ciri along with many new witchers and we followed that up with a report about a number of female characters involved in that storyline as well. Today we have something that surprised us a fair bit. Redanian Intelligence has learned that Danica , played by Imogen Daines , will return to the second season of The Witcher and will appear in one of its first episodes directed by Stephen Surjik. To remind you, Danica is the sex worker who Geralt is with in the beginning of the third episode of the first season and she’s examining the monster slayer’s scars.
