The Witcher Season 3 and Blood Origin Cast Falka

The Witcher: Blood Origin, set 1200 years before Geralt, is set to introduce a number of canonical legendary characters from Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels. We already know Jacob Collins-Levy as Eredin, Samuel Blenkin as Avallac’h and Ella Schrey-Yeats as Ithlinne. Now we know of one more that will also appear in the main series.

We’ve learned that British actress Hiftu Quasem (Ten Percent, Killing Eve) will portray the legendary character Falka in The Witcher Season 3 as well as Blood Origin. We’ve also known for months that Quasem has been involved in the Morocco shoots for Season 3 back in July 2022 alongside Freya Allan‘s Ciri, but couldn’t quite place her role until now.

It’s quite clear that Ciri in the Korath Desert will be seeing visions as we already reported at the time that Gaia Mondadori‘s Pavetta was involved in the Morocco shoots as well. In addition to her mother, it’s now clear that Ciri will be seeing Falka as well, whose name she will adopt very soon after the desert chapter.

In the novels, Falka was a historical figure who lived in the 1100s, only a century before the main events. She led a rebellion against her father, King Vridank who left her mother and remarried. Conflicting historical documents and reports in the novels suggest that Falka may have also been a carrier of Elder Blood and potentially an ancestor to Ciri.

In the Netflix series, the mage Stregobor expresses his very strong feelings towards Falka and reveals that he was present during Falka’s Rebellion. He reveals that his hands are an illusion and implied that Falka took them.

Falka’s role in The Witcher: Blood Origin is unclear. She was a quarter-elf like Yennefer and wouldn’t be able to sustain a long life to both be in the Blood Origin timeline around the Conjunction of the Spheres and in the timeline where Stregobor would be alive. So the timelines here don’t exactly add up as she would have to live around 1100 years. It’s possible that Falka’s appearance may also be a vision in Blood Origin.

In The Witcher Season 2, the fiery Falka figure conjured by Stregobor was performed by actress Scarlett Maltman.
