A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms aka Dunk & Egg Series Gets A Schedule Update
2024 will be an interesting year for HBO’s Westeros universe as House of the Dragon Season 2 will premiere this summer, Season 3 writing is getting underway, but also the Dunk & Egg series aka A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will be filmed this year.
Dunk & Egg filming slightly delayed
Thanks to Production Weekly, we have a new update regarding the filming dates of Dunk & Egg series. It seems that filming should now begin in Summer 2024, instead of Spring as originally planned.
Even with this slight delay, a 2025 release is still very much on the table, knowing that the season itself will be not only much less complicated than House of the Dragon in the technical department, but also shorter as George R. R. Martin suggested it would most likely consist of only six episodes.
In other Dunk & Egg news, you may have noticed a new name there on the grid, Hiram Martinez (The Last Ship, Snowpiercer), who will serve as a producer.
On top of that, we have learned of a new writer attached to the Dunk & Egg series: Steven Conrad. Conrad’s credits include Patriot, Perpetual Grace LTD, Ultra City Smiths and more. Conrad is joining House of the Dragon‘s Ira Parker and George R. R. Martin in writing for Dunk & Egg.
In any case, we’re intrigued with what comes next with this series knowing casting is underway and we might have an announcement in the coming months.
House of the Dragon Season 2 will premiere on HBO in Summer 2024. We will keep following the show as the promotional campaign kicks into high gear in the coming months.
