The Witcher to show young Geralt and young Vesemir in Season 2

With only two days left until the second season of Netflix’s The Witcher finally wraps production for good, there is still much to be discovered. As they said in Dark, what we know is a drop, what we don’t know is an ocean. But this time we do know something curious.

We have learned that somewhere in Season 2 of The Witcher there will be a flashback scene featuring young Geralt and young Vesemir. We’ve already seen young Geralt played by Tristan Ruggeri in Season 1, but this time we believe it’s very likely Geralt will be several years older than that, hence why Netflix has been looking for a new actor for the role.

As for Vesemir, we don’t know who is cast, but we do know that singer and actor Bradley Jaden auditioned for the role, which reveals to us approximately what age of Vesemir we will see.

Will whoever is cast as young Vesemir in Season 2 also voice him in The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf?

Difficult to say at this point, as we know nearly nothing about the current status of the anime film. We know it was in development since 2019, but we can’t say much about how much voiceover they have at the moment and whether this was a “2 in 1 audition” at all.

That being said, Jaden is a proficient singer which means he has great control of his voice and would be efficient in doing voiceover work as well. But that’s not enough evidence to suggest anything.

There is also the Theo James question.

If you recall, he voiced young Vesemir in Season 1 and since Nightmare of the Wolf started development even before Season 1 was released, many assumed he recorded that one line along with many other lines he may have been doing at the time for the anime. James having done a decent amount of voiceover work for Netflix in the recent years may add some weight to that speculation.

In any case, we have no information on James’ involvement either in The Witcher Season 2 or Nightmare of the Wolf and we will have to wait and see who plays and voices the young Vesemirs in either production. Will there be one for both productions? Will there be two different young Vesemirs?

The Witcher Season 2 is close to wrapping production and Nightmare of the Wolf was rumoured to air not too far from Season 2, which will be released in the second half of 2021.
