Work on The Witcher Season 5 Already Underway Ahead of Season 4 Filming

The fourth season of Netflix’s The Witcher is actively in pre-production for a planned this March at Longcross Studios, UK. While the first of the two upcoming seasons is being prepped for filming as we speak, the second one, Season 5 is already in development. Writing The Witcher Season 5 Already Started The fifth and very likely the final season of The Witcher has had an interesting road so far. It was first conceived back in Fall 2022 as part of Netflix’s plan to produce both Season 4 and Season 5 back-to-back. By the start of the WGA strikes in May 2023, Season 5 already had an outline and Season 4 was mostly written. When the strikes ended a few months later, writing resumed to finish up Season 4 and now after the Christmas holidays The Witcher team has finally begun to write the scripts for Season 5 . New Witcher Season 4 Scene Reveals a Book Storyline Set In the Far Future

The fourth season of Netflix’s The Witcher has already started pre-production with filming planned to start in March. Recently, it was announced that Laurence Fishburne was joining the new season as the beloved vampire Regis , but that’s not all the casting news we have now. The Witcher Season 4 will feature Nimue Thanks to an audition tape by actor Tim Plester ( Game of Thrones, After Life , Shadow and Bone ) we have a new scene in The Witcher Season 4 featuring a young girl and a wandering storyteller. The girl is obsessed with a certain “knight” and a “Lady Viola”, but most importantly the girl calls the man Stribog while another kid called her Squirt , which was also what Nimue got called when she was a child. Laurence Fishburne Joins The Witcher Season 4 as Regis

Each new season Netflix’s The Witcher has one or two roles that everyone is eager to find out who would portray them. Previous years those included Nivellen, Philippa, Dijkstra and others. The big one for Season 4 is definitely Regis and Netflix has finally dropped the news. Laurence Fishburne as Regis Today Netflix officially announced that Laurence Fishburne has been cast as everyone’s favorite barber-surgeon and vampire Emiel Regis Rohellec-Godefroy or just Regis . Netflix is seemingly being coy about Regis being a vampire saying he has a “mysterious pas”, so that will be its own reveal in the actual season most likely. Fishburne, whose career includes such titles as The Matrix , Hannibal and John Wick , gave a brief comment for the press release: “ I’m very excited to be joining the cast and look forward to exploring the wondrous world of The Witcher. “ News from The Continent! A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms aka Dunk & Egg Series Gets A Schedule Update

2024 will be an interesting year for HBO’s Westeros universe as House of the Dragon Season 2 will premiere this summer, Season 3 writing is getting underway , but also the Dunk & Egg series aka A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will be filmed this year. Dunk & Egg filming slightly delayed Thanks to Production Weekly, we have a new update regarding the filming dates of Dunk & Egg series. It seems that filming should now begin in Summer 2024 , instead of Spring as originally planned. Even with this slight delay, a 2025 release is still very much on the table, knowing that the season itself will be not only much less complicated than House of the Dragon in the technical department, but also shorter as George R. R. Martin suggested it would most likely consist of only six episodes. House of the Dragon Season 3 Starts Active Development

HBO doesn’t rest on its laurels regarding its hit series House of the Dragon with 2024 being a big year for the Westeros universe. Not only Season 2 of House of the Dragon will be released this Summer, but also the Dunk & Egg series will start filming this Spring. But that’s not all, as work on Season 3 must begin as well. Work on House of the Dragon Season 3 begins very soon We’ve learned that work on House of the Dragon Season 3 such as active script writing and other very early things begin fully this month, January 2024 . It’s too early to speak of any filming dates, but if previous seasons are any indication, the scripts realistically won’t be done until about Q3/Q4 of this year. Writing for Season 2 of House of the Dragon started around April/May 2022 and cameras started rolling almost a whole year later, in April 2023. Perhaps we’re looking at a late 2024/early 2025 filming start, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. For now we can only speculate. A m

The Witcher Season 4 Filming Dates Revealed

It’s finally a new year and with it come expectations of various things. In The Witcher world, we have the production of Season 4, among other things, the season where we’ll see Liam Hemsworth step into Henry Cavill’s shoes as Geralt of Rivia. How long will the filming of The Witcher Season 4 take Pre-production for The Witcher Season 4 is set to go into full gear very soon after the New Year holidays, but filming is a little further away. As we mentioned earlier, this phase usually takes around 10 weeks give or take. Now we have another update regarding the filming. As far as we know, filming for The Witcher Season 4 is currently planned to start in March 2024 and last until October 2024 . The wrap date isn’t fully set in stone yet and may be subject to change the closer we get there. If things go very smoothly and ahead of schedule, we may see a September wrap. With these dates in mind, we’ll reiterate the previous suggestion about the release date of Season 4. Season 3

The Witcher universe with Netflix will be growing next year. After how everything ended with the recast and the latest Witcher season, we imagined Netflix would be winding down their planned library of everything about The Witcher. However, during the latest Geeked Week, we got a teaser trailer for a new animated movie: The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. The movie, which is based on one of the original The Witcher stories, “A Little Sacrifice”, will take place canonically within the first season, episodes 5 and 6 to be exact, and will be animated by Studio Mir, who also worked on Nightmare of the Wolf.
